About This Content London Transport’s finest comes to Train Simulator with the London Transport Heritage Pack, featuring classic capital traction for you to enjoy.1938 Tube StockAs their name suggests, the 1938 Stock was first introduced on deep-level ‘Tube’ lines shortly before the start of the Second World War. In particular, the Metro-Cammell-built 1938 Stock spent their first 50 years on the Bakerloo, Northern, Piccadilly, Central Lines and even the sub-surface East London Line. After ending their time with London’s railways in 1988, many units of the 1938 Stock were sent for scrap, a few carriages survived into preservation, however some were sold to Network SouthEast for service on the Isle of Wight.Surprisingly, the ex-1938 Stock of the Isle of Wight, now classified as the BR Class 483, is still shuttling between Ryde and Shanklin to this day, making them the oldest passenger rolling stock still in service in the UK – pushing on for 80 years old!In Train Simulator, the 1938 Stock is represented in Northern Line condition, complete with period destination boards and advertising. Driving the Tube Stock is most bespoke, and your time in the classically fitted driving cab will be a challenging yet rewarding experience as you run heritage services.GWR 5700 ClassIt’s no secret that the GWR loved their tank engines, what can be said, they were highly useful in many roles, but perhaps none more so than the 5700 Class. Known today as the ‘Pannier Tank’, GWR’s 5700 Class stood tall as an 863-strong fleet of locomotives that could cope with light goods, shunting, passenger, branch and even mainline use.Their reputation and abundance meant they were a popular contender for smaller companies after the general end of steam, and London Transport put a handful to use on engineer’s trains right up to the early 1970s.The Pannier Tank is represented authentically in the London Transport Heritage Collection, sporting the pristine maroon and gold livery as applied to a select few examples of the remaining locomotives. While a couple of the engines await restoration in real life, London Transport’s Panniers will be raring to steam in Train Simulator, with lucky passengers in-tow as you manage the pressure on the historical run.BR Class 20As the era of steam ended, the British railway network was in need on an entirely new generation of motive power. English Electric would be the starting gun for the country’s early diesels, and one of their pioneering designs, the Type 1, was built as a mixed-goods locomotive that could replace a large sum of not only steam traction, but also other early diesels which were proven unreliable. In recent years, the remaining Type 1 fleet, or as it was re-classified, the Class 20, is usually found on engineering trains, or of course passenger excursions. For the London Transport Heritage Collection, BR Class 20 No. 20142 is featured in her newly applied maroon and gold livery, as the 20s are well known for engineering operations across London Underground lines and taking part in special celebrations. The 20s are nicknamed by enthusiasts as ‘Choppers’, owing to their distinctive helicopter-like sound when running under load, mow’s the time to put them through their paces and chop up the landscape while performing a beat.Included Content:LU 1938 Tube Stock in London Transport Maroon liveryEx. However all of them have redeeming features which outway the negatives. Unfortunately this DLC route has no redeeming features. The rolling stock is rehashed from other routes, the route itself is sloppily excecuted, with dreadful graphics and little imagination. The scenarios are dull. If you want to drive classic 1938 underground stock, buy the IoW route. It may be five or six years older, but the graphics, presentation and scenarios are much better. DTG should be very ashamed of this.. CANT SAY ANYTHING ABOUT THIS AS HAS NEVER DOWNLOADED DESPITE STEAM SAYING THAT IT HAS BEEN ADDED TO MY COLLECTION. Rip off. No updates to the trains. They are just re-textureing the interior & exterios of the trains. DO NOT BUY!. I bought this along with the Isle of Wight route mainly because I wanted to enjoy the London 1938 stock in two different ways. But I ended up regretting this part of the purchase, and because I played for too long I can't get a refund. The only "strong" point of this DLC is the 1938 tube stock itself. Is not entirely true that it's a mere repaint of the IoW Class 483, as it boasts a new, more detailed interior and driver cab, plus middle coaches that the IoW stock doesn't have. But those are pretty much the only good things about it. Many people say the headlights don't work, and that's not true. They do work with the correct combination of keys. They are tied to the train destinations, which by the way are totally unrelated to the ridiculously-named stations of the route. The manual does not specify anything about this. The interior at first glance is aesthetically better than the IoW stock, but when you go through a tunnel at daytime it becomes very dark, like if the lights weren't illuminating at all. The brake handle is the wrong way around, and it's annoying if you're already used to the Class 483 from the IoW, which is basically the same train. There are a few level crossings on the route, and in one of them the cars simply do not stop when you're about to pass.I haven't tried the rest of the trains, but apparently from what I've heard they are all reused from other packs, and so is the route. This very route was previously available as a DLC named "Phorum Peninsula" whose funds went to charity. They removed it from the store at some point, and brought it back with some changes as a mere cash-grabber.Don't buy this add-on. Buy the Isle of Wight route instead, it's a bit older but a lot more of care and effort was put into it.. this is an amazing route with diffrent challenges. worth getting and fun to drive espicelly the underground train feel like ur on a real harratige route. its a good train but the down side to it is the headlights do not work not impressed with that but its a good train anyways and its not like the I.O.W train also i like to point out the brake turns wrong it is right to suply brakes and left to relase brakes but mabe that will be fixed soon hopefully !!!! NOTE; mabe it will update and the headlights will work. DONT GET IT, VERY BAD, SPEED SIGNS NON EXISTANT, TRAIN SOUNDS REUSED, TRAIN PHYSICS NON REALISTIC. I EXPECT THAT A 2 YEAR OLD CAN DO BETTER. I'M REALLY DISAPOINTED, BUT HEY ITS DTG: we_want_money.png. When I read the first article about this pack on the Train Sim website, I just cringed. It seems like DTG are scraping the bottom of the barrel when it comes to ideas for new DLC.I do think it's nice that they are finally starting to acknowledge the existence of the London Underground, but this pack clearly shows that either TFL were too stubborn to give Dovetail the license for the LU roundel, or Dovetail where just being as lazy as they usually are.I was very disappointed by this DLC, mainly because of how much hype DTG was generating for it. In other words, a case of over-promising and under-delivering. I really hate the term 'Classic Capital Traction' they use at the start of this store page. Just putting that out there. This truely is a mess of a DLC. The bonus route is the only worthwhile part of this pack, even if the stations are all done-up in Network Southeast style when the pack is supposed to have a London Transport theme. I do like the fact that we finally have a remastered Phorum Peninsula, but again, it's let down by the rolling stock itself. The biggest gripe I have with this LT "Heritage" collection is the fact that not a single piece of the included rolling stock is brand-new to Train Simulator. We already had the 1938 tube stock with the Isle of Wight route, the Pannier Tank is a reskin of the Riviera in the 50s Pannier, and the Class 20 has been in-game for about 3 years. It makes no sense why the Class 20 was included, when they have virtually nothing to do with the London Underground, besides bringing the S stock down from Derby. Calling the Pannier's coaches "Push-Pull" is a complete lie, as they are just standard coaches, that are literally just copied and pasted over from the Isle of Wight route. The NSE coaches are from the NSE Class 47 pack. We already had the conflats, 16 ton mineral wagons, vans and the WR brake van, which was copied over from Dovetail's rehash of the Iron Horse House 9F. I know this from looking at the rolling stock list in the scenario editor (it says 'PP 9F WR Brake Van'). Also, the "Push-Pull" coaches were not changed at all. They still say 'Southern Railway'. I thought this collection had a London Transport theme to it!I have realised that only the motive power has a London Transport theme. Everything else is completely random. NSE coaches and stations + miscellaneous goods wagons we already have. This pack is just a complete mess. I only got it for the route, as I like to use it for filming my series of Train Simulator Music Videos (using songs like Land of Confusion by Genesis). My last major complaint is the names of the stations. I mean seriously? King Henry VIII Halt, Jurassic Halt, Channel, Spinswit Harbour? Who comes up with these names? I will throw Dovetail a bone for adding more stations onto this revamped route, as the original Phorum Peninsula only had 5 stations. What I don't understand is why they changed the names of the stations that survived from the original route. Ash Row is now St Paul's, Peddlestown is now Channel, St Bilton is now Vindelis, and Gray's Point is now Stony Point. At least Vindelis station is much brighter under the overall roof than the original St Bilton. So to summarise, this pack had great potential, but what we got as the final product was a huge disappointment. None of the rolling stock is new, and the route doesn't even feel like you're in London, not to mention only the motive power has a London Transport theme. If you really want this pack, I suggest you only get it for the route itself. I can-not recommend this DLC at all. In my opinion, it is nothing more than a big kick in the guts to fans of London Transport and the present day London Underground, like myself.. I got this DLC in the sale for £5.99 and for £5.99 it isnt bad. For the full price of £11.99 it isnt value for money in my eyes. Route is a bit short. But it is very nicely detailed with some nice coastal runs and challenging gradients. Not a high speed route by any standard- top speeds of 40mph. Seems to be inspired by the Isle of Wight route. On Quick Drive the Ai is Electrostars which is nice as I like to drive Electostars. The use of NSE Station furniture with London Underground trains is odd. It isnt a bad DLC, the 1938 stock looks superb BUT needs better sounds and physics, but the mishmash of NSE Stations and London Transport traction is a very poor/odd/mishmash of a compromise.. Bought the Route, which is nice, even is it is a fictional one, there is enough scope for shunting and there is an animated crane for loading small containers onto 4-wheeled flat wagons.I really like the 1938 Tube stock, looks good and is/are easy to drive.Pannier very good, except I felt the brakes were not the best, there does not appear to be a "Lap" position, so you are having to "apply" then "release", "apply" etc.Class 20 is good except for the Horn. The 4-wheeled coaches are nice, except the tail light is on all the time and on all coaches. This I found a bit annoying, especially as there is so many examples of intelligent Tail lighting coaches and wagons about nowadays. So Cons for me are:Tail lights on coaches need to be bought up to intelligent status.Horn on the Class 20 to be fixed.Brakes on the Pannier to have a "Lap" or "Run" position added.
